Biography

Boglárka BaykovBoglárka Baykov was born in 1979 in Budapest, Hungary. Being only 13 years old, she already won the first prize at the I. regional competition for recorder in category chamber music in Budapest, together with her trio. She studied the recorder (and music pedagogy as a side subject) in the class of László Lorincz at the “Franz Liszt” Music Conservatory in Szeged and by Rudolf Hofstötter at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Boglárka then completed her artistic and pedagogical training with excellence in 2009 at the University of the Arts in the class of Prof. Han Tol as well as by Dörte Nienstedt. She attended numerous master classes with Anneke Boeke, Maurice van Lieshout, “Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet” and with Prof. Han Tol and Joris van Goethem. For her outstanding academic achievements Boglárka received twice the Annual Scholarship of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and was supported by the Soros Foundation and the Tokyo Foundation among others.

Boglárka Baykov is playing concerts in Germany and Europe-wide, the highlight appearances being in the Museum of Art History in Vienna, the Berlin State Opera, the Mirror Chapel of Klementinum in Prague, the Hall of Arts, City Hall, and the St. Peter’s Cathedral in Bremen, as well as on the “Classical Music Festival” in Solec nad Wisla in Poland. She participated in German and Hungarian CD-recordings as well as television and radio broadcasts, among others by “CPO”, “Radio Bremen” and “Bartók Rádió Budapest”. She collaborates with renowned ensembles such as the “Weser Renaissance” (Manfred Cordes), the ensemble “Luxurians”, “Bremer Barock Consort” and “Gesti Musicali”. Her work is also complemented by collaborations with visual artists and as soloist with regional orchestras in Germany.

Boglárka Baykov is also a successfull recorder teacher – her pupils have been awarded on the German “Youth Music” competitions between 2009-2012.
